Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu noted that they connected the Bursa Technology Organized Industrial Zone to the Istanbul-Izmir Highway with the TEKNOSAB Junction. Minister Uraloğlu said, “We are completing the 1,3-kilometer section between the Taşpınar neighborhood and the Hürriyet neighborhood, the 1,8-kilometer highway connection, and 3 kilometers of the junction arms and putting them into service.”
Minister Uraloğlu, who made statements at the TEKNOSAB Junction Opening Ceremony, noted that the junction will bring a new breath of fresh air by adding strength to the transportation network of TEKNOSAB, the rising star in the industrial field. Minister Uraloğlu said, “Bursa is one of our cities that ranks 3rd in our country’s exports, is the locomotive of our industry, and is the heart of our production power. Organized industrial zones like TEKNOSAB are like the chambers of this heart. The veins that will carry blood for these chambers to work and for the heart to beat are our roads. We are experiencing the happiness and pride of opening a new vein in the heart of Bursa.”
TEKNOSAB Junction is a Strategic Investment
Uraloğlu stated that TEKNOSAB Junction is not just a road, but a strategic investment that will make a significant contribution to the development of TEKNOSAB, the industry, technology and innovation center of Bursa, and said, “Just like a seed falling to the ground, sprouting, taking root and reaching towards the sky, this junction will give new life to the ecosystem of Bursa Technology Organized Industrial Zone, multiply our production power and expand our employment opportunities.”
Bursa, the Capital of Turkish Automotive
Pointing out that Bursa is the capital of Turkish automotive, Minister Uraloğlu said, “It is among the important metropolitan cities of our country with its industry hosting many international investments. Our city, which is a transition point on the developed highway and divided road route extending between the Marmara and Aegean Regions, is growing every day. For this reason, as the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, we are strengthening the transportation standard of Bursa with the city center, districts and surrounding provinces with new transportation investments.”
230 Billion Investment
Uraloğlu stated that they have invested approximately 2002 billion liras in Bursa’s transportation and communication infrastructure since 230 and said, “We increased the length of divided roads from 195 kilometers to 605 kilometers, and the length of hot bituminous paved roads from 148 kilometers to 784 kilometers. We built 292 new bridges in Bursa. It did not have any tunnels, we built 15,1 tunnels with a length of 5 kilometers.”
Minister Uraloğlu reminded that they completed the routes such as Istanbul-Gebze-Orhangazi-Izmir Highway, Bursa Peripheral Highway, Bursa-Eskişehir-Ankara Highway, Bursa-Karacabey Highway, Bursa-Mudanya as divided roads. Uraloğlu also said that they opened the 7,3-kilometer-long Iznik Peripheral Road in September.
26 Highway Project Continues
Uraloğlu also stated that they continue construction work on 20 highway projects with a project cost of 437 billion 26 million liras, such as Yenişehir-Bilecik Road, Orhangazi-İznik Road, Çalı Road, Gemlik-Armutlu Road, Mudanya Gemlik Road, Dursunbey-Tavşanlı Road, İnegöl-Domaniç Road.
Osmaneli-Bursa to be Completed by the End of 2025
Stating that they have developed Bursa’s transportation network with all modes of transportation, Uraloğlu said, “We are building a high-speed train line connecting our Ankara-Bursa High-Speed Train Line to the Ankara-Istanbul YHT line. We aim to complete the 106-kilometer Osmaneli-Bursa works by the end of 2025 and the Bursa-Bandırma section in 2028.”
Minister Uraloğlu, who also made a statement about the Emek-YHT Station-City Hospital Light Rail System Line, shortly known as the City Hospital Metro, stated that the line will serve 80 thousand passengers daily with an operating speed of 410 kilometers. Uraloğlu stated that they aim to complete this project by the end of 2025.
Highway Connection Will Be Provided via Divided Road
Minister Uraloğlu explained that the TEKNOSAB Junction, which will be connected to the Zeytinbağı Provincial Road branching off from the Bursa-Karacabey State Road that will provide access to the Bursa Technology Organized Industrial Zone, is one of the important projects implemented in Bursa. Minister Uraloğlu continued his words as follows:
“With our project, we are ensuring that the Bursa Technology Organized Industrial Zone is connected to the Istanbul-Izmir Highway and the Bursa-Karacabey State Highway in a high-standard manner. Our route branches off from the Bursa-Karacabey State Highway, passes east of Taşpınar Village, and connects to the Istanbul-Izmir Highway with the TEKNOSAB Junction. We are constructing the 10,5-kilometer Zeytinbağı Provincial Road as a divided highway standard with 2 lanes, 2 in and 4 out, with bituminous hot mixture coating. We are also establishing connections to the living areas and production centers in the region with 7 junctions at various points. We planned to provide the highway connection with a 1,8-kilometer divided highway and a 4,2-kilometer junction arm.”
Minister Uraloğlu made a statement, “As the first stage, we are happy to complete and open the 1,3-kilometer section between Taşpınar and Hürriyet neighborhoods, the 1,8-kilometer highway connection, and 3 kilometers of junction arms.”
Divided Road Integrity Will Be Ensured
Minister Uraloğlu, who noted that they will contribute to the development of industrial facilities within TEKNOSAB by providing fast transportation opportunities for the heavy heavy vehicle traffic in the region, said, “We are currently in the process of completing the earth and engineering structures between Muratlı Junction and Taşpınar Junction. With the completion of this section, the divided road integrity from Bursa Technology Organized Industrial Zone to the Istanbul-Izmir Highway will also be ensured.”
“Total Annual Savings of 405 Million Liras”
Minister Uraloğlu, who also shared savings information, said, “When our entire project is put into service, we will save 288 million liras annually, including 117 million liras in time and 405 million liras in fuel. We will also contribute to the protection of nature by reducing the carbon emissions of vehicles that harm the environment by 8 thousand tons.”
“Bursa Will Continue to Draw the Road Map of the Future”
Minister Uraloğlu, who said that TEKNOSAB Junction is a door opening to the future of Bursa, said, “The section we are opening here today is just the beginning. TEKNOSAB will rise to a stronger position in the international arena and become more attractive to investors. Bursa will continue to be one of the locomotive cities of Turkey and draw the road map of the future with its industry, businessmen, merchants, university, youth and dynamic structure.”
