TEKNOSAB Junction, which will provide fast, safe and economical transportation to Bursa Technology Organized Industrial Zone, the new generation organized industrial zone of Turkish industry with its knowledge and innovation-based production approach, smart infrastructure and renewable energy resources, was opened with a ceremony attended by Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu and General Director of Highways Ahmet Gülşen.
Stating that TEKNOSAB Junction is not just a road, but a strategic investment that will make a significant contribution to the development of TEKNOSAB, the industry, technology and innovation center of Bursa, Minister Uraloğlu said, “Just like a seed falling to the ground, sprouting, taking root and reaching towards the sky, this junction will give new life to the ecosystem of Bursa Technology Organized Industrial Zone, multiply our production power and expand our employment opportunities.”
“We are strengthening the transportation standard with new transportation investments”
Uraloğlu, who drew attention to the fact that Bursa is among the important metropolitan cities of our country with its industry hosting many international investments, said, “Our city, which is a transition point on the developed highway and divided road route extending between the Marmara and Aegean Regions, is growing every day. For this reason, as the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, we are strengthening the transportation standard of Bursa with the city center, districts and surrounding provinces with new transportation investments.”
Uraloğlu stated that they have invested approximately 2002 billion liras in Bursa’s transportation and communication infrastructure since 230 and said, “We increased the length of divided roads from 195 kilometers to 605 kilometers, and the length of hot bituminous mixture paved roads from 148 kilometers to 784 kilometers. We built 292 new bridges in Bursa. It did not have any tunnels, we completed 15,1 tunnels of 5 kilometers in length and opened them to traffic.”
Construction works of 26 highway projects continue in Bursa
Reminding that they have completed routes such as the Istanbul-Izmir Highway, Bursa Ring Highway, Bursa-Eskişehir-Ankara Highway, Bursa-Karacabey Highway, Bursa-Mudanya as divided roads, our Minister added that they also opened the 7,3-kilometer-long Iznik Ring Road in September.
Uraloğlu also stated that they continue construction work on 20 highway projects with a project cost of 437 billion 26 million liras, such as Yenişehir-Bilecik Road, Orhangazi-İznik Road, Çalı Road, Gemlik-Armutlu Road, Mudanya Gemlik Road, Dursunbey-Tavşanlı Road, İnegöl-Domaniç Road.
The highway connection will be provided via a divided highway
Uraloğlu stated that the TEKNOSAB Intersection, which will be connected to the Zeytinbağı Provincial Road branching off from the Bursa-Karacabey State Road that will provide access to the Bursa Technology Organized Industrial Zone, is one of the important projects implemented in Bursa and said the following: “With our project, we are ensuring that the Bursa Technology Organized Industrial Zone is connected to the Istanbul-Izmir Highway and the Bursa-Karacabey State Road in a high-standard manner. Our route branches off from the Bursa-Karacabey State Road, passes east of Taşpınar Village, and connects to the Istanbul-Izmir Highway with the TEKNOSAB Intersection. We are constructing the 10,5-kilometer Zeytinbağı Provincial Road as a divided highway standard with 2 lanes (2 in and 4 out), coated with bituminous hot mixture. We are also establishing connections to the roads of the living areas and production centers in the region with 7 intersections at various points. We planned to provide the highway connection with a 1,8-kilometer divided highway and a 4,2-kilometer junction arm. Today, as the first stage, we are happy to have completed and put into service the 1,3-kilometer section of our provincial road between Taşpınar and Hürriyet neighborhoods, the 1,8-kilometer highway connection, and 3 kilometers of junction arms.”
“The integrity of the divided road will also be ensured”
Stating that they will contribute to the development of industrial facilities within TEKNOSAB by providing fast transportation opportunities for the heavy vehicle traffic in the region, Uraloğlu said, “We are currently in the process of completing the earth and engineering structures between Muratlı Junction and Taşpınar Junction. With the completion of this section, the divided road integrity from Bursa Technology Organized Industrial Zone to the Istanbul-Izmir Highway will also be ensured.”
Uraloğlu stated that with the opening of the entire project, they will save 288 million liras annually, including 117 million liras in time and 405 million liras in fuel, and will also contribute to the protection of nature by reducing the carbon emission of vehicles that harm the environment by 8 thousand tons.
