Infrastructure Preparations for Rail System in Batman

Batman Governor and Deputy Mayor Ekrem Canalp inspected the 40-meter-wide and 5 km-long Western Beltway, which is under construction by Batman Municipality starting from the old Airport Junction (in front of the Old Tekel Building) in the city center, and received information from the authorities about the work carried out.

We Will Weave a Road Network Around Batman

Governor Canalp, who examined the road that will greatly ease the city traffic by integrating the highway network connecting the city center and the surrounding cities, stated that they will cover Batman with a dual carriageway network; “There will be a ring-shaped circle surrounding Batman. This is the beginning of the circle. When this road is completed, we will surround Batman with the municipality’s dual carriageway network. Then, we will connect it with the outer ring, which will be a second circle with the highway network. When all these come together, Batman will no longer have a traffic problem in terms of transportation in the next century,” he said.

New Road Planned to Also Have a Rail System

Stating that they left space for the future rail system on the road under construction, Governor Canalp said, “We have planned this. Because one day, when the zoning plan that will be enough for our 1 million 100 thousand population is completed, when new settlement areas emerge around Batman step by step, we will have facilitated the implementation of a rail system and public transportation that will surround Batman. We are building the next century, the next century will be Batman’s century.”

Within the scope of the project, which was implemented with the initiatives of Governor Ekrem Canalp, one overpass, one culverted stream crossing, five intersections and three development connection roads will be built.

During the inspection, the Governor was accompanied by Deputy Governor/Deputy Mayor Mustafa Caner Culukar, Kozluk District Governor/Deputy Mayor Ekrem Güngör, Deputy Mayor Muzaffer Özkan and municipal unit managers.
