The 18th TTI Izmir International Tourism Trade Fair and Congress, held in Izmir this year, brought together leading professionals from the tourism sector. Chairman of the Board Osman Çıralı and Board Member Süleyman Kaya attended the fair representing Fethiye and the Fethiye Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FTSO).
The opening of the fair hosted by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality was attended by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Zafer Levent Yıldır, TRNC Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu, CHP Deputy Chairman Responsible for the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry Erhan Adem, Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ferdi Zeyrek, Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Muhittin Böcek, İZTO Assembly President Selami Özporaz, Turkish Travel Agencies Association (TÜRSAB) Vice President Hasan Eker, mayors from provinces and districts, components of the economy world and representatives of professional chambers attended.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the fair, TRNC Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu stated that the tourism, education and construction sectors of the TRNC contribute to the economy. Ataoğlu said, “As of January 2025, incentives will be given to charter flights. The historical richness and natural beauties of the TRNC will be presented to visitors.”
İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Zafer Levent Yıldır stated that İzmir hosted approximately 2024 million 10 thousand tourists in the first 1 months of 600. TÜRSAB Board of Directors Vice Chairman Hasan Eker emphasized that 80 percent of the tourists coming to Turkey come through travel agencies and said, “Turkey ranks 5th in world tourism. This success is the result of 50 years of experience and cooperation of Turkish tourism professionals.”
Fethiye took its place at the fair
Following the ceremony, FTSO Board of Directors Chairman Osman Çıralı and Board Member Süleyman Kaya hosted sector representatives and tourism professionals at the Muğla stand and Fethiye table, which were prepared under the leadership of Muğla Metropolitan Municipality, and visited other stands at the fair and held many bilateral meetings. Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Muhittin Böcek also visited the Muğla stand within the scope of the fair.
Stating that they carried out promotional activities at the fair as part of the preparations for the 2025 tourism season, Mayor Çıralı thanked Muğla Metropolitan Municipality for its contributions to the promotion of Fethiye under the roof of Muğla. Stating that the fair was extremely productive for tourism sector professionals, Mayor Çıralı said, “TTI İzmir brings together tourism professionals and tourism suppliers as well as regional promotions, making significant contributions to the development of the sector. Following the opening ceremony held in the morning, we had extremely useful meetings by hosting our guests at our Muğla stand and visiting other stands. We will continue our work uninterruptedly within the scope of the fair.”
