Turkey's Record Exports to Germany in October

Turkey's Exports to Germany Break Record

Turkey achieved the highest October export figure in its history by exporting $1,6 billion to Germany in October. Despite global economic difficulties, demand for Turkish products continues in Germany.

Strong Relationships Increased Trade Volume

Although there has been a slight decrease in exports recently due to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic and the Russo-Ukrainian War, the strong and deep-rooted relations between Turkey and Germany have contributed significantly to the increase in trade. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz expressed his intention to restart negotiations with Turkey and emphasized the need to strengthen relations between the two countries.

Turkey's total exports increased by 5,3% compared to the previous year, reaching 20,5 billion dollars in October. In this context, Germany was the country to which Turkey exported the most, with 1,6 billion dollars of foreign sales.

Automotive Sector Stands Out

Among the sectors with the highest exports to Germany, automotive, ready-to-wear and apparel, electrical-electronics and chemicals stand out, while hazelnuts and their products showed the greatest increase. In October, Istanbul, one of Turkey's largest cities, was the city with the highest exports to Germany, followed by Bursa, Izmir, Kocaeli and Ankara.
