Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that they have designed the Kaynarca-Karasu-Kocaali Road as 60,7 kilometers long and said, “It is an important project in terms of connecting the Black Sea Coastal Road to the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge and the Northern Marmara Motorway. We have completed a 54-kilometer section to date. We will complete our entire project in 2025.” Uraloğlu also noted that 18 separate highway projects are ongoing in Sakarya with a project cost of 247 billion 9 million liras.
$281 Billion Investment in Turkey's Transportation and Communication Infrastructure
Noting that the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure has invested approximately 2002 billion dollars in Turkey's transport and communication infrastructure since 281, Uraloğlu said, "We have met and continue to meet the needs of our citizens from the westernmost to the easternmost, from the northernmost to the southernmost of Turkey. No one can stop us from serving our nation."
Divided Highway Length Increases to 402,5 Kilometers
Uraloğlu stated that they have implemented very important transportation and communication projects in Sakarya, as in all of Turkey, and continued his words as follows:
“Since 2002, we have invested approximately 164 billion liras in Sakarya’s transportation and communication infrastructure. We increased the length of divided roads, which was 2002 kilometers in 131, to 402,5 kilometers. While 197 kilometers of the roads were BSK paved, we reached a total of 561,4 kilometers. We improved 109 kilometers of single-track roads.”
Minister Uraloğlu noted that they strengthened the connection of Sakarya with Istanbul and Kocaeli with a new high-standard road with the Northern Marmara Motorway starting from Akyazı and said, “We built the Adapazarı-Karasu-Akçakoca Road as a divided road. We opened the Geyve Junction-Taraklı Road, Sakarya-Taraklı, Sinanoğlu-Limandere City Crossing. We built the Gümüşova Junction and the Sakarya-Topca Overpass Junction.”
9 Different Highway Projects Continue
Minister Uraloğlu noted that they continue with 18 different highway projects such as Erenler Highway Junction – D247 Connection Road and Kozluk Junction Divided Road, Kaynarca – Karasu – Kocaali Road, Ormanköy – Akyazı – Dokurcun Road, D-100 Adapazarı Hanlı Junction – Mekece State Road, Mudurnu Creek Bridge Construction with a project cost of 100 billion 9 million liras.
54 Kilometers of Kaynarca – Karasu – Kocaali Road Completed
Uraloğlu stated that the Kaynarca-Karasu-Kocaali Road is important in terms of connecting the Black Sea Coastal Road to the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge and the Northern Marmara Motorway via the Istanbul-Şile-Ağva-Kandıra-Kaynarca Road. Uraloğlu said, “It is an alternative to the D-100 State Road in transportation from Istanbul to the Black Sea Coastal Road. On the route where an average of 10 vehicles pass every day; it will provide fast and easy transportation to the rapidly growing industrial facilities in the region, connected ports and contribute to tourism activities.”
Uraloğlu stated that they have completed 60,7 kilometers of the project, which is 2 kilometers long, 2 ways and 54 ways, with hot bituminous mixture coating, and has a divided road standard, and said, “We are rapidly continuing our work on the remaining 6,7 kilometers. We will complete our entire project in 2025.”
Noting that they have also put the Sakarya Ring Road, also known as the Pekşenler Road, on their agenda, Uraloğlu said, “Our project and planning work continues for a total of 6 kilometers in length, consisting of 1,5 kilometers of main road, two ways and two ways, and 12 kilometers of side road, 18 kilometers of which is divided road.”
“We will build our 276-kilometer-long Central Anatolian Highway”
Uraloğlu, who also made statements about the Central Anatolian Motorway project, said, “As you know, we relieved the congestion between Istanbul-Akyazı with the Northern Marmara Motorway. Now, we plan to build the Central Anatolian Motorway on the section of the route between Akyazı and Ankara. We will establish our Central Anatolian Motorway with a total length of 225 kilometers, 51 kilometers of which is the main trunk and 276 kilometers of which is the connection road. We plan to provide traffic service with a total of 3 lanes, 3 inbound and 6 outbound. We will establish a faster connection between the Central Anatolian Motorway and the Northern Marmara Motorway to the Ankara-Niğde Motorway. We will also build a second alternative road for disasters and emergencies.”
