
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that a new Memorandum of Understanding was signed with Bahrain and Jordan within the scope of the International Civil Aviation Negotiations Event. Minister Uraloğlu said, “The authority to organize 7 weekly frequency flights on the Rize-Artvin-Bahrain and Rize-Artvin-Amman lines was granted to the carriers of both countries.”
Uraloğlu announced that a new Memorandum of Understanding was signed with Bahrain and Jordan within the scope of the International Civil Aviation Negotiations Event held in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, on October 19-24, 2024. Minister Uraloğlu said, “Within the framework of the agreements made with Bahrain and Jordan, the authority to organize 7 weekly frequency flights on the Rize-Artvin-Bahrain and Rize-Artvin-Amman lines was granted to the carriers of both countries.”
“Rize Will Gain Significant Momentum in Tourism with New Lines”
Minister Uraloğlu noted that thanks to the signed Memorandum of Understanding, the necessary legal and commercial groundwork has been provided to start air transportation between Bahrain and Jordan and Rize. Uraloğlu emphasized that such agreements reinforce Turkey’s role in international aviation and said, “With these flights, the natural beauties and cultural heritage of the region will become more accessible to tourists. Rize, which stands out especially with nature tourism, plateau tourism and cultural trips, will gain significant momentum in tourism with the new lines. It will revitalize the local economy, support commercial activities and strengthen the promotion of the region on an international scale. Thus, the most efficient use of Rize’s touristic and economic potential will be ensured.”
