Travelers to New Zealand will have to shell out a little more money in the future to set foot in the country.
Today, the island nation charges a fee of 35 NZD ($22 USD) for most types of tourist visas.
But from October 1, this fee will be increased to 100 NZD ($62 US) per traveler.
According to officials, the tax is due to the increasing number of tourists coming to New Zealand each year. Officials said the revenues will be used to protect infrastructure and nature.
