The MG brand, which is part of the SAIC Group and represented by Doğan Trend Otomotiv in Turkey, will launch the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version of the new MG HS model on the roads in Turkey in October.
The MG brand is preparing to launch its new generation HS PHEV model in Turkey in October. The ambitious model, which stands out as the “Turbo of Hybrid”, will make a difference with its ability to travel over 100 km with an electric engine without consuming any gas, a total range of over a thousand kilometers, a turbo hybrid engine and ultra-low fuel consumption.
Developed at SAIC London Design Office, MG’s state-of-the-art New HS PHEV brings a more technological look to the SUV design with its new front grille and thinner headlights. On the other hand, the central black panel connecting the headlights emphasizes the width of the new car.
At the rear, the LED taillights, which reflect the design of the front headlights, are connected by a central motif, while the X-shape, which is particularly striking at night, creates a unique light signature. Reflecting MG's new generation design language, the New HS PHEV offers a width of 1.890 mm and a length of 4.670 mm. The model's wheelbase has also increased to 2.765 mm, providing an even more spacious interior.
Kağan Dağtekin, the leader of Doğan Trend Automotive Group, which represents the MG brand in Turkey, said, “With the new tax regulations announced last month, Turkey - by making an important move - took a position supporting ultra-efficient new generation technology vehicles. We are offering our HS PHEV model, which will be one of the best examples of these new generation technology vehicles, which we will see in the long term to reduce the country's petroleum dependency, to the users in our country at the same time as in Europe.”
With its 21.4 kWh battery and 55-litre fuel tank, the new HS PHEV effortlessly reaches a range of over 100 kilometres. With its ultra-efficient hybrid system, the new HS PHEV offers an unrivalled fuel consumption of just 0.54 litres per XNUMX km.
Thanks to its new-generation software, it combines a 145 PS 1.5-liter turbo gasoline engine with a 185 PS electric motor. The software, which enables the two engines to work in series or in parallel, and optimizes the relationship between the engines by understanding the driver's needs, was developed by SAIC engineers.
The car, which turns into a performance monster when it needs power, provides surprising economy in daily use. Thanks to its two engines, the vehicle produces a total of 339 horsepower and manages to reach 6.9-0 km in 100 seconds.
In addition to the high safety measures it offers, the HS PHEV also enables semi-autonomous driving. It offers advanced MG Pilot Technological Driving Support Systems as standard, including Active Emergency Braking with Pedestrian and Bicycle Detection, Lane Departure Warning with Lane Keeping Support, Blind Spot Monitor with Lane Change Support, Driver Distraction Warning, Forward Collision Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Warning and Door Opening Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Traffic Driving System.
