Theme: 'Bursa on My Palate'
This year's 3rd Bursa International Gastronomy Festival will take place on September 13-14-15 and will introduce the unique flavors of Bursa. The theme of the festival this year has been determined as 'Bursa on My Palate'. Seden Bozbey stated that they will present many innovations at the festival and emphasized that Bursa has a great reputation for its deep-rooted history, rich cultural heritage, lush nature, industry and agriculture as well as its unique cuisine. Bozbey said, "In this festival, we will witness the journey of Bursa's unique flavors from soil to table. We are happy to exhibit the geographically indicated products of women producers, the forgotten Bursa cuisine products and the culture of Bursa. We continue to bring our traditional flavors together with our fellow citizens with our Gastronomy Truck. This year's festival, planned at an international level, will also feature famous chefs from abroad and foreign sister cities."
“Women Should Be Supported”
Bozbey stated that women have a very important role in production, social life and domestic labor and said, “We fully support the work offered by women's associations and cooperatives. We are ready to provide all kinds of support for you to gain your economic freedom. We know how valuable cooperatives are, especially in women's productivity and inclusion in the workforce. Bursa is ours, we will manage this city with our own resources. We will be very happy to see your efforts at the 'Bursa Producing Women Street' at the 3rd Bursa International Gastronomy Festival. We will provide all kinds of support for you to exhibit your products under the most suitable conditions. We have gathered here today to promise this. As the Metropolitan Municipality, we fully support such formations. We signed festival participation agreements with 41 women's organizations that have achieved production and sales capacity at our festival. As women who bring Bursa's local and special flavors to life, I would like to thank you all from the bottom of my heart.”
Strong Women, Strong Society
Deputy Secretary General of the Metropolitan Municipality Mehmet Yıldız stated that women being strong ensures that children are also strong, and as a result, society becomes stronger. Yıldız said, “We should not forget the fact that women should be strong in every area of society. Managers must support women equally and fairly in every area of society. If we can create an environment where productive women's associations in Bursa find the rewards of their labor and socialize, we can build a stronger society. Women mean kindness, sharing and peace. Women mean beauty and happiness. We look forward to meeting at this event under the leadership of our Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Bozbey. If Bursa will smile, it will be thanks to you, productive women. Thank you for your efforts.”
Following the speeches, a protocol agreement was signed between the Metropolitan Municipality and women's associations and cooperatives. The program ended with a group photo.
