
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that Rize İyidere Logistics Port will be the transfer center of the combined transportation chain that will arise from the potential traffic between the Caucasus and Middle East countries, and said that the port, which is under construction, is planned to be put into operation in 2026. Minister Uraloğlu stated that the cargo coming to Rize İyidere Logistics Port will play an important role in the logistics network of the region by being integrated into the Development Road with the road connection on the Erzurum, Bingöl, Diyarbakır and Mardin route, and said, " İyidere Logistics Port includes general cargo, bulk cargo, container cargo. "It will be the new address for large tonnage ships in the Black Sea basin, with a capacity of 13 million tons per year, including Ro-Ro and Ro-Ro transportation." he said.
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, together with Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum, inspected İyidere Logistics Port, which is under construction, 20 kilometers from Rize city center and 50 kilometers from Trabzon city center.
Minister Uraloğlu emphasized the geopolitical importance of Turkey and said, “Our country is not only about the east-west axis corridors; It is also the center of the north-south corridors extending from the Caucasian countries and Russia to Africa. The Eastern Black Sea is also located at a very important point for the Caucasus corridor opening from Europe and Central Asia. “Our port will also be the transfer center of the combined transportation chain that will arise from the potential traffic between the Caucasus and Middle Eastern countries.” he said. Referring to the connection of Rize İyidere Logistics Port with international trade routes, Minister Uraloğlu said, “The cargo coming to the port will be connected to the Development Road with the road connection on the Erzurum, Bingöl, Diyarbakır and Mardin route, thus strengthening Turkey's strategic position with its connection to international trade routes. " said.
Capacity of 13 Million Tons per Year
Minister Uraloğlu said that when İyidere Logistics Port comes into operation, it will serve as an alternative that will reduce the 25 billion dollar import of Iran's northern provinces using Dubai ports from one month to 15 days, and with this feature, it will make a great contribution to the share of the region and Turkey in maritime trade. Uraloğlu said, “Our port will be the new address for large tonnage ships in the Black Sea basin with a total capacity of 13 million tons per year, including general cargo, bulk cargo, container cargo and Ro-Ro transportation.” said.

Stating that they have exceeded the 50 percent level in the ongoing construction works, Uraloğlu stated that the main breakwater of the port will be 2 thousand 700 meters long and the secondary breakwater will be 470 meters long, and added: “A dock longer than one kilometer and a Ro-Ro dock measuring 60,5 x 272,5 meters will also be built.” we do.
