Stating that all maintenance of the vehicle should be complete before the journey, Petlas Marketing Manager Esra Ertuğrul Boran said, “It is important that the maintenance of your vehicle is complete for the performance and safety of your vehicle on long journeys. Checking the tires before hitting the road after having the vehicle fully maintained ensures that possible problems you may encounter on the road are detected and solved early. The driver must sleep well and rest
Boran said that it is very important for the driver to sleep well and rest after all the checks regarding the vehicle are carried out and said: “It is of great importance for the safety of life that the drivers get enough sleep. On long journeys, 20 percent of accidents occur due to drowsiness and momentary distraction. Air conditioning plays an important role, especially when traveling in hot weather. Therefore, air conditioning maintenance must be done for the air conditioning system to work properly. Additionally, the windows should be opened every 15 to 20 minutes to ensure air circulation. "If sleepiness occurs, a break should be taken and the journey should continue after resting."

Reminding the traffic rules, Boran said, “When approaching critical areas such as connection and access points and intersections and traffic lights, a controlled transition should be made by reducing the speed. Especially at residential crossings, one should be very careful about the possibility of pedestrians and children coming out. Legal speed limits should be observed, and driving should be done below the speed limits when challenging conditions such as rain, driving in the dark, and narrow, winding roads occur. A safe following distance should be maintained and a distance of at least 4 seconds should be kept from the vehicle in front and 6 seconds on highways and highways. "Observing the road ahead well and checking the mirrors and the environment every 5-8 seconds will also ensure a safe driving," he said.
