
Visiting hours of museums and archaeological sites affiliated with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism have been rearranged within the scope of the 2024 tourism season. According to the new practice, some museums and archaeological sites will host their visitors until later hours within the scope of night museology.
With the arrangements made, Ephesus Ruins will be open to visitors until 00.00, and Aspendos, Patara, Side and Hierapolis Ruins will be open to visitors until 23.00. Istanbul Airport Museum and Galata Tower can be visited until 23.00, and Hagia Sophia History and Experience Museum and Bodrum Underwater Archeology Museum can be visited until 22.00.
On the other hand, the visiting hours of Perge, Phaselis, Olympos, Sagalassos, Laodikeia, Knidos, Zelve-Paşabağları archaeological sites, Antalya Museum, Istanbul Archeology Museum, Maiden's Tower, Turkish and Islamic Arts Museum, Ephesus Museum and Samsun Museum have been extended until 21.00. . In addition, the visiting hours of many museums and archaeological sites have been extended until 19.00 and 20.00. The detailed list of updated visiting hours will be valid as of June 15, 2024.
A special regulation has also been introduced for the holiday period. Museums and archaeological sites, which are normally closed until noon on the first day of the Eid, will be open to visitors on the first day of Eid al-Adha. In addition, all museums and archaeological sites will host their visitors on Monday, the second day of the holiday. This regulation aims to extend the visiting hours of museums and archaeological sites and provide more services to visitors.
The new visiting hours of museums and archaeological sites, which attract great interest from visitors, will enable the cultural and historical heritage to reach wider audiences. In this context, citizens and tourists will have the opportunity to explore Turkey's rich cultural heritage for longer hours.
