
Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Aras said that MUSKİ provided water to the Turunç region within the scope of the project that will provide water to 7 neighborhoods in Marmaris Bozburun Peninsula. Aras gave the good news that they poured the first water into Turunç within the scope of the project and that all neighborhoods will have water as of August 15.
Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Aras examined the Bozburun Peninsula drinking water project, which is under construction in Marmaris by MUSKİ General Directorate. Aras, who visited the neighborhoods that will have uninterrupted water, said that they poured the first water into the Turunç District tank within the scope of the project and gave the good news that the project will be completed on August 15. During his visit, Aras was accompanied by Marmaris Mayor Acar Ünlü, Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Secretary General Tayfun Yılmaz and MUSKİ General Manager Yılmaz Şengül.
Approximately 30 kilometers of the line has been completed
Within the scope of the works, drinking water will be provided to Turunç, Bozburun, Selimiye, Söğüt, Bayır, Osmaniye and Taşlıca Neighborhoods from Atatürk Dam. In the project, 53 kilometers of drinking water lines, 3 pumping centers, 2 drinking water distribution tanks, one pumping tank, 8 maslaks, electrical transmission lines and mechanical improvements will be made. While approximately 30 kilometers of the line is completed, it is aimed to provide water to the regions without any problems in the middle of summer.
Aras, “We Plan to Complete the Project on August 15”
Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Aras, who visited the area between Bozburun and Söğüt Neighborhoods where the project continues, received a briefing about the work from MUSKİ officials. Making a statement after the briefing, Aras said that they wanted to complete the work and provide water to 15 neighborhoods on August 7. Aras said, “We are here to supply drinking water from the Marmaris Atatürk Dam to the Bozburun Peninsula. We are currently in the area between Bozburun and Söğüt where work continues. There is a total of 46 km of work here. We have now completed most of the work. We delivered the first water to our Turunç District. Turunç will now have drinking water coming from the Atatürk Dam. We are completing our water project step by step. On August 15, we will provide water to Selimiye and Bozburun. Later, we will carry out additional work in Orhaniye District and eliminate the water problem in this region. The works, which started at the end of November, continue as planned in June. We aim to complete the project on August 15, the promised date, and provide water to all neighborhoods in this region. "I wish good luck to our citizens in advance," he said.
