Second Press Meeting from Leader Bozbey… New Mushti for the People of Bursa

Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Bozbey organized the second 'General Evaluation Meeting', where he made valuable statements about the agenda, at Merinos Atatürk Congress and Culture Center. Bursa press members showed great interest in the meeting attended by Bursa Deputies Nurhayat Altaca Kayışoğlu and Hasan Öztürk, Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Secretary General Mehmet Emin Direkçi, Marmara Municipalities Union General Secretary Cemil Arslan and municipal bureaucrats.

DEBT INCREASED BY 1.6 BILLION TL

Reminding that they set out to serve Bursa and the people of Bursa on the morning of April 1, Metropolitan Mayor Mustafa Bozbey said that they rolled up their sleeves and started working day and night for the future of the city and the people of the city.

Stating that they knew that a difficult situation awaited them, Leader Mustafa Bozbey stated that they were no strangers to such situations and that their predictions came true.

Stating that the people of Bursa are also curious about this picture, Leader Bozbey said that it is the right of everyone who was born, grew up, paid taxes and was fed in Bursa to know this information. Reminding that they shared some financial situations at the press conference held last month, Leader Bozbey said, “The debt, which we announced as 25 billion TL last month, increased by approximately 1.6 billion TL with the progress payments received in March. Of course, we are not stuck with this debt. Because we set out not to go backwards, but to manage the coming period in the best way possible. Bursa is a strong city. However, we inspect and inspect everything that is out of practice and illegal, one by one, and report it to our relevant friends and relevant authorities. As I mentioned before, 'We will be fair. We will be transparent. We will be accountable'. We will continue this understanding uninterruptedly until the end of the period. Even if the debts increase, there is nothing we cannot handle. We will strive to fulfill our promises to the people of Bursa, one by one. We have no intention of having a polemic with anyone. Our aim is to focus on and solve Bursa's problems. "We will solve the problems with a rational, science-based, but economic approach," he said.

Stating that they are working closely with the projects while embracing the people of Bursa, Leader Bozbey stated that they have made return visits to 16 districts so far and are continuing their strategic plan studies. Stating that they wanted to prepare the strategic plan with a participatory approach, Leader Bozbey said, “We watched the presentation of each district during the visits. As a metropolitan city, we have things to do. There are projects we will do jointly with district municipalities. Additionally, there are projects to be carried out by district municipalities. We think of Bursa as a whole. Bursa Metropolitan Municipality is an umbrella. It has to form a whole that acts together with its 17 districts. Unfortunately, such an understanding has not existed in Bursa so far. We will demonstrate this understanding in Bursa, as we did in Nilüfer for 20 years. We aim to implement our projects in line with the needs of each district with a participatory approach. This understanding of ours will be taken as an example in Turkey as well. We will complete our visits to 17 districts by visiting Kestel. "We will see together that our city begins to breathe with the strategic plan we will prepare with the contributions of all our stakeholders," he said.

Explaining that there are some negative issues in Bursa and that citizens should know about specific issues, Leader Bozbey mentioned the disruptions in the transportation works carried out in the Çalı Region.

Stating that he visited construction sites whenever he had the opportunity after taking office, and that some of the practices they encountered upset them, Leader Bozbey said, “We encountered some problems during my visits to the Science Technology Center within Bursa Metropolitan Municipality. A study was conducted under the name of new experimental setups. It saddened me to see that the work was given to BİNTED company, although the Directorate of Technical Affairs should have done that work. The manufacturing done here is wrong and has been stopped. In BTM, these works were undertaken by spending approximately 30 million TL of the money of the people of Bursa. The result is currently a fiasco. This kind of technical work is not possible. This is not how business and tender work work. The institution that supervises that work must also have technical people. Someone has to be responsible. "There is no one responsible," he said.

MOTHER'S RACE, BUSMEK AND YKS COURSES

Stating that they are faced with unfounded theses from time to time, Leader Bozbey said that baseless statements such as '3 thousand people will be removed, the Mother Embassy is closing' have no meaning.

Reminding that they received a lot of complaints about flies as the weather got warmer, Leader Bozbey stated that this situation occurred because the larval control was not carried out on time.

Referring to the complaints about the Yenikent solid waste storage area in Hamitler, Leader Bozbey reminded that he made statements to the people of the region on this issue.

SERVICES CONTINUE

Stating that while he was interested in Bursa on the one hand, he was also thinking about Marmara as the Leader of the Marmara Municipal Union (MBB), Mayor Bozbey stated that Bursa is an important part of the Marmara Region. Explaining that Marmara has many problems such as heavy industry, pollution, transportation and migration, Leader Bozbey said that they think and act about Marmara as a whole, using MBB's knowledge and experience. Stating that they continue their efforts to make Bursa smile, Mayor Bozbey said, “As Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, we have primary duties. We continue these. Our work on asphalt, asphalt coating, parquet supply and science works continues. Work did not stop at Atatürk Sports Hall either. On the contrary, it was agreed on the project with a capacity of 5100 people. Likewise, the construction of gyms, which have already started production, continues in Havuzlu Park, Demirtaş, Yenidoğan, Kestel and Gemlik. Some arrived at the completion stage. Work continues in the parks. We have facilities that are close to completion. We will hold the openings together in the coming days. Important investments continue in the mountain region. None of them have been stopped. Technically, of course, we keep it normal for review. As BUSKI, we have valuable investments. Work continues on changing drinking water lines in İnegöl. Work continues on the dams and ponds built by BUSKİ. Recently, there has been an increase in the number of fires due to the sudden increase in air temperature. Last week, 42 fires were intervened in one day. We know that there is a shortage in the fire truck fleet and the number of workers. We have made our decision about purchasing a new vehicle. We aim to produce more qualified services by renewing the vehicles and purchasing the vehicles we need. "Our work regarding the employee will continue," he said.

“OUR DISTRIBUTED CHECKS ARE APPROACHING 16 THOUSAND”

Stating that social support efforts continue, Leader Bozbey said, “We wanted to support our retired citizens with 2 thousand TL during the holiday. Kart16 support continues. There is no stopping in these services, but as we said before the election, we will be fair. We will deliver it to those in real need. The state also has offers for this aid. While providing support to retirees, we have to comply with the determined criteria. We have to support those in real need. Our checks distributed over the holidays approached 16 thousand. All of them are in need. We made some sacrifices in terms of criteria and took risks. Even if he lived in his own home, we did not consider him as a homeowner. We reinforced him too. "A significant portion of those who applied benefited from the supplements," he said.

TRANSPORTATION IS FREE DURING THE FESTIVAL

Stating that children will experience report card excitement after schools close and the holiday will begin, Leader Bozbey congratulated all children and the families who support them. Stating that the Metropolitan Municipality opened summer courses to give children the opportunity to develop in many branches from swimming to gymnastics, from volleyball to basketball, Mayor Bozbey stated that he expects all children and young people to attend the courses. Mayor Bozbey heralded that transportation will be free during the upcoming Eid al-Adha and said, “We will organize free bus services so that our citizens can visit cemeteries comfortably during the Eid. "We provide urban transportation free of charge for 4 days," he said.

Referring to the transportation good news that will be implemented in the short term, Leader Bozbey said, "Due to technical reasons, we cannot operate Bursaray until 2 am. Instead, we will support our citizens with buses parallel to the Bursaray route. On Saturdays, Bursaray will provide 24-hour service. Our friends are doing the work. It will be implemented gradually. Mothers with children aged 0-4 will benefit from free transportation. The infrastructure for this has also been prepared. We will implement the application soon. In this way, our mothers will be able to participate more in social life. We are increasing our students' boarding rights from 160 to 200. This decision was also made. In addition, our students will ride 75 percent cheaper than full boarding. There was a limitation for people over 65 years of age. We are also removing that limitation. "We are implementing all the social pillars we promised before the election, one by one," he said.

İZNİK'S APPLICATION TO UNESCO

Stating that the application made to UNESCO regarding Iznik resulted negatively and was withdrawn, Leader Bozbey stated that this was a result of the field leader providing insufficient information and lack of joint work. Explaining that a project like Iznik should be within the scope of UNESCO, Leader Bozbey said, “It was good that the application was withdrawn. We will take part in that project again as the Metropolitan Municipality. We will carry out the work actively and ensure that Iznik is included in the UNESCO protection area. The year 2025 will be a valuable year especially for the Christian world and Iznik. Studies on that subject continue. We will be active in those projects, too. "In 2025, we will have implemented an understanding that will make Iznik stand out in the world," he said.
