BTU Became a Member of the Turkish Universities Association

Expanding its cooperation network in the public and private spheres, BTÜ also takes care to carry out joint studies with universities.

BTÜ, which broke new ground in Turkey and took the first step towards the establishment of the Technical Universities Association, is making real progress towards making its name known in the international arena. In this context, at the 7th General Council Meeting held in Baku, the capital city of Azerbaijan, BTÜ's membership to the Turkish Universities Association (TÜRKÜNİB) was accepted. Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey and Uzbekistan are member countries in TÜRKÜNİB, and Northern Cyprus is Turkish. The Republic of Turkey and Hungary are observer countries. TÜRKÜNİB aims to harmonize the programs in the member universities of the union, implement the common credit transfer system, encourage faculty training programs, benefit from the outstanding advantages of universities in certain fields, and carry out joint education, research programs and projects.

Rector Naci Çağlar, who attended the 7th General Delegation Meeting of TÜRKÜNİB online, noted that BTÜ is now a member of the Turkish Universities Association and that this will bring great benefits for both the university and the Turkish world. Rector Çağlar said, “Under the roof of TÜRKÜNİB; We want to raise generations with a high awareness of common identity, in order to establish cooperation between our universities, based on our common history, culture and language heritage, and to implement educational standards that are contemporary and appropriate to the scientific level. "This Union, of which we are a member, will offer important opportunities to our academics and students," he said.

""WE WILL ALSO BENEFIT FROM THE ORHUN EXCHANGE PROGRAM"

Stating that the framework of the Orhun Exchange Program, which covers the exchange of faculty members and students, will be determined and implemented in the future, Rector Çağlar said: “BTÜ is stronger with the Turkish Universities Association. Our goal now is to become a member of the European University Association. After completing this process, we will become more recognized globally. “I hope that our university will be a member of the Turkish Universities Association.”
