First Closed Colon Tumor Surgery in Bingöl State

Bingöl State Hospital achieved a significant health success and performed laparoscopic (closed) colon tumor surgery for the first time.

Opr. Dr. Under the conductorship of Mehmet Uçar and Opr. Dr. The surgery, performed under the operatorship of Mehmet Aykut Dadaşoğlu, was completed successfully and the patient regained his health and was discharged.

This surgery is especially important for patients with Familial Adenomatosis Polyposis (FAP) syndrome. FAP syndrome is known as a genetic disease that predisposes to colon and rectum cancer, and the number of patients in the region is quite high. These patients, who were previously treated in external centers, can now safely undergo surgery at Bingöl State Hospital.

Opr. Dr. Mehmet Aykut Dadaşoğlu, in his statement about the surgery, stated that the technical and physical infrastructure of the hospital has been strengthened and thus, such surgeries can be performed within the hospital. Dadaşoğlu stated that laparoscopic surgeries can be performed safely in colon and rectum cancers, and that this technique increases patient comfort, allows patients to return to their normal lives early, and offers advantages such as less pain and early discharge.
