Family Medicine Employees Union (AHESEN) Leader Dr. Ahmet Kandemir reacted to the request sent by the Ministry of Health to family health centers to fill out a petition two days before the end of the month for patients whose vaccine rejection has not yet been entered into the system. Dr. Kandemir emphasized that this demand made it impossible to reach thousands of vaccine paperwork processes, thousands of pages of paper, and thousands of individuals.
“FAMILY MEDICINE WORKERS WERE VICTIMIZED”
Dr. Kandemir stated that patients who have refused vaccination are expected to re-issue paperwork and call them back to the institutions, and that this cannot be done in a short period of time, such as two days. “If the patient did not come or the doctor and nurse were on leave during this period, the family medicine employees' benefits were cut with this decision taken from the desk,” he added.
Stating that many family doctors, especially from different districts of Istanbul, are experiencing financial difficulties before the holiday, Dr. Kandemir said that while holiday bonuses are received in every sector, family medicine employees face unfair cuts.
Dr. criticizes the fact that all the responsibility for the increasing vaccine refusals is placed on family medicine employees, while there is no sufficient legal regulation regarding vaccine refusal. Kandemir said, "As if this were not enough, the prices of our colleagues are also cut immediately before the holiday."
“TURN FROM THIS MISTAKE”
Dr. made an open invitation to Provincial Health Directors. Ahmet Kandemir said, “Return from this mistake immediately. Cancel deductions for family practice employees. Otherwise, as AHESEN, we will not let go of this issue from the legal side. As a result of the cases we win, you not only cause financial loss to the ministry, but also waste the time of the citizens by giving unnecessary workload to our already hard-working colleagues. "No one has the right to waste the state's financial and service resources in this way," he said.
