Karabağlar Mayor Helil Kınay attended the May 5 statement of DİSK Genel-İş Branch No. 1 and met with workplace representatives and workers. Workplace representatives thanked President Kınay on behalf of DİSK Genel-İş for meeting with the workers and listening to the statement, and said that they would be in the fields on May 1.
Mayor Kınay, who frequently came together with the workers during the election campaigns and said that they would be with them in their struggle, did not leave the workers alone in his May 1 statement. Stating that he will be in the streets for May 1 with the workers tomorrow, Mayor Kınay said, "Today we will be in the halls, tomorrow we will be in the fields, but we will always be on the side of labor, justice and rights," and said that they have to expand the struggle so that the words spoken can be put into action. Stating that they will bring the spark they lit in Karabakh to Izmir, and from Izmir to all of Turkey, together they will create the life they deserve, Mayor Kınay underlined that both the union, the workers and themselves have a great responsibility here. Emphasizing that they will work harder than yesterday for the rights of citizens in Karabakh, Mayor Kınay said that they will be in the fields together tomorrow. Stating that he is proud to be shoulder to shoulder with the workers in Karabakh, Mayor Kınay stated that they will work harder to be another hand in their labor.
