Nizip Advanced Biological Wastewater Treatment Facility, which was completed by Gaziantep Water and Sewerage Administration (GASKİ) affiliated to Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality, was opened with the participation of Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Mehmet Özhaseki.

In his speech at the opening, Minister Özhaseki stated that the infrastructure works of municipalities are less visible than the activities carried out in the superstructure and said, “If you are going to do urban planning, if you are a serious Mayor, you should give priority to such infrastructure works. "Because this is an environmental issue," he emphasized the importance of the project.

BOTH DOMESTIC AND INDUSTRIAL WASTEWATER WILL BE TREATED

Nizip Advanced Biological Wastewater Treatment Facility, one of Turkey's most advanced and environmentally friendly wastewater treatment facilities with a process where both domestic and industrial wastewater is treated together, will serve the Nizip district, whose population and industry are rapidly rising. The facility, which was built and completed on an area of 2 decares in a record time of 36 years, will operate with a total wastewater treatment capacity of 30 thousand 500 cubic meters per day, 7 thousand 37 cubic meters of which is domestic and 500 thousand cubic meters of which is industrial, with the integration of physical, chemical and biological systems.

NIZIP STREAM WILL FLOW CLEAN

During the treatment phase of the facility, solids, biodegradable organic substances, pathogenic organisms, nitrogen and phosphorus in the wastewater will be cleaned. The treatment facility will prevent the pollution of the Nizip Stream through the treatment it carries out in wastewater and will reduce water pollution that threatens the living conditions of the creatures living in the river. The treatment plant will also minimize environmental pollution and the risk of groundwater contamination. The water treated from the facility will be brought to a water quality that does not harm nature.

Nizip Advanced Biological Wastewater Treatment Facility, financed by JICA and ILBANK within the scope of the Nizip Stream Action Plan, carried out by the Metropolitan Municipality together with the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, will be able to serve a population of 2050 thousand equivalents by 210.

ÖZHASEKİ: THESE FACILITIES ARE IMPORTANT AND WE SHOULD SHOW EVERY ACTIVITY WE CAN FOR THIS.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Mehmet Özhaseki stated that the facility is important for Nizip and Gaziantep and said:

“When Mayor Fatma Şahin explained the situation of the region, we brought this project forward. The infrastructure project would be ungrateful. If you are going to do urban planning, if you are a serious Mayor, you will give priority to such infrastructure works. Because this is an environmental issue. In an environment where pollution has increased all over the world and the atmosphere has been damaged recently, a great danger awaits humanity. If we continue to pollute the world, we will be unable to live in these regions. Therefore, these facilities are important and we must do all we can to achieve this. It is important for me to put this project into operation.”

OUR AIM IS TO SERVICE

Stating that Turkey is an earthquake zone and that the region recently experienced a serious earthquake, Minister Özhaseki gave information about earthquakes. Özhaseki continued his speech by stating that precautions against earthquakes are important and concluded his words as follows:

“We must learn from the past. Whatever happened in the past is over now. We must continue by making our homes and residences safer. 850 thousand independent units were damaged in the recent earthquakes. 18 provinces were affected. We are building more than 20 thousand houses in Gaziantep. Our aim is service. We want to serve. We work day and night. Congratulations to our facility here. “I thank those who contributed.”

ŞAHİN: WE IMPLEMENT PROJECTS BY WORKING TOGETHER

Speaking at the opening, Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Fatma Şahin stated that Minister Özhaseki did not reject the demands for the city and said:

“We have a Gaziantep Model. We implement projects by working together. The project we opened today was very important for the region. We took our duties and started working, saying "Who will do what?" There were things to be done in Nizip, especially regarding the waste coming from the olive and pistachio industry. Industrialists in Nizip also did their part. Nizip Mayor Mehmet Sarı did his part. As Gaziantep, we brought water to the city by drilling through the mountains from a distance of 135 kilometers. We saw what this means in the disaster of the century. We started supplying water to the city within 48 hours. Our Lord helps us when we put the right man in the right place.”

EVERYTHING WILL BE LIKE PEANUTS IN NIZIP, WHERE FISH DO NOT DIE, TREES DO NOT DRY, PEOPLE DO NOT GET SICK.

Providing information about the facility, Mayor Şahin concluded his speech as follows:

“This facility has high engineering and technology. From now on, everything will be fine in Nizip, where fish do not die, trees do not dry out, and people do not get sick. We are doing very special work in the land of pistachios and olives. We are establishing Pistachio City. "We will continue on our way without stopping until the new Nizip with a view of the Euphrates is established."

In the program, AK Party Group Deputy Chairman and Gaziantep Deputy Abdulhamit Gül stated that Minister Mehmet Özhaseki was successful in every field in the duties he took in Turkey and Kayseri, and said, "Our Minister has important works in Nizip and Gaziantep, both with TOKİ Housing and wastewater treatment. We also follow the studies on Nizip Stream. "Today, I would like to thank our minister for the support he gave to houses and their purification," he said.

Following the protocol speeches, the ribbon was cut and the facility was put into service.
