
China has sent four meteorological satellites into space, forming parts of the “Tianmu-1” satellite network.
According to NTV, the satellites were launched from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in the Gobi Desert with the Kuaizhou-1A carrier rocket yesterday evening.
The satellites, intended to be used for commercial meteorological data services, settled into their planned orbital position after launch.
The launch was the 1th successful transport mission carried out with the Kuaizhou-25A rocket.
The first two satellites, which are part of the “Tianmu” satellite network, whose name means “Mother Sky” in Chinese, were launched on January 9, 2023, the first of the group of four satellites was launched on March 22, 2023, the second on July 20, 2023, the third on December 25, 2023, and the fourth on December 27, 2023.
