Professionals of the global shoe industry will meet in Istanbul on 7-9 November for the 'World Shoe Congress', the industry's largest international organization.
Erkan Zandar, President of the Aegean Leather and Leather Products Exporters Association, who will be a speaker at the World Shoe Congress to be hosted by the Turkish Footwear Manufacturers Association (TASD), said, “Our theme this year will be 'Shaping the Future'. At the congress, all critical topics concerning the sector, especially new trends, technological developments and sustainability, will be discussed. As leading Turkish leather exporters in digitalization, we achieved shoe exports of 2023 million dollars in the January-September period of 931. There has been a 21 percent increase in our shoe exports in the last three years. The share of shoes in our leather and leather products exports is 62 percent. We exported shoes worth 9 million dollars to our main market, Russia, with an increase of 80 percent in a 124-month period this year compared to last year. "We exported shoes worth 67 million dollars to Germany and 14 million dollars to Iraq, with an increase of 58 percent." he said.
Explaining that the products of the companies will be modeled with a software specially developed for EİB with realistic texture and reflection and integrated into the system in three dimensions, Erkan Zandar said, "In the EİB Metaverse trend area, visitors can examine the products in 360 degrees and digitally with a kiosk integrated into the system with the project developed differently from the project in the previous editions." They will have the chance to try the shoe products they have chosen on their own feet. "By integrating company logos, price ranges, product codes, technical specifications of the products and company contact information into the modeled environment, we will allow visitors to visit the digital stands of our participating companies and examine the products from where they are." He included his statements.
