On the 100th anniversary of the Republic, artist Ergün Başar's exhibition "Atatürk: Leaving Firsts, Giant Portraits" met with art lovers at Konak Metro Art Gallery. The exhibition, consisting of portraits of people who achieved firsts in Atatürk's Turkey, especially Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, can be visited until December 30.
On the 100th anniversary of the Republic, artist Ergün Başar's "Atatürk: Leaving Firsts Giant Portraits" exhibition was opened, hosted by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. Deputy Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mustafa Özuslu and art lovers attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition at Konak Metro Art Gallery. The exhibition, consisting of 90 giant oil portraits, includes names such as Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, Aziz Nesin, Ahmed Adnan Saygun, Aziz Sancar, Çetin Emeç, Afife Jale, İlhan Koman, Nazım Hikmet Ran, Üstün Ezer, who achieved many firsts in Atatürk's Turkey. It will be open until December 30.
A very valuable exhibition
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, Mustafa Özuslu, said that they were very happy to host such a meaningful and valuable exhibition on the 100th anniversary of the Republic. Deputy Chairman Özuslu said, “Just as we are captured by more than one emotion when talking about our great leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, and our hearts are pounding every time, I guess it is equally difficult to feel him at the tip of a brush. "I would like to express my gratitude to our artist Ergün Başar, who reminded us of him with his brush and made us feel it," he said.
“Republic lovers are in this exhibition”
Reminding that the names that made Turkey's name known to the world were also included in the exhibition, Özuslu said, "The names that are 100 years old today, who are in love with the Republic, who are contemporary and modern, who have made and continue to make Turkey's name known to the whole world, and who have achieved firsts are also depicted. "I believe that through this exhibition, the people of Izmir will remember the best feelings about Atatürk and the precious names who devoted their hearts to the Republic, and of course, we will rethink our responsibilities," he said.

Ergün Başar thanked those who contributed to the exhibition and said, “The most important factor in the creation of these portraits is that they consist of people who are loyal to Atatürk, left their mark, and conveyed Atatürk's philosophy and Atatürk's mindset to us.
