Opel announced details about its highly anticipated new light commercial vehicle model, the electric Combo. The new compact van, which maintains all the advantages of the previous generation, draws attention with important innovations such as the new front facade and the new digital cockpit. It is also the first model to feature the most advanced technology in its segment, Intelli-Lux LED Matrix Headlight®. The new Opel Combo is immediately noticeable thanks to the characteristic Opel Visor® front panel that we know from Opel's current passenger cars. Opel Visor®, which extends along the front of the vehicle, integrates the signature lightning logo with the front lighting system. In addition, the new Combo Electric offers a longer driving range. In addition to the electric version, the new Opel Combo can also be preferred with a diesel engine and manual or automatic transmission options. Designed to suit your needs, the new Combo can be ordered with combi and panel van options.

Opel CEO Florian Huettl; “The class-leading Opel Combo has added advanced technologies to its commercially proven capabilities, making use safer and more enjoyable. "Emission-free Combo Electric continues to be a great choice for professionals, now offering greater driving range," he said.

A first: Intelli-Lux LED Matrix Headlights in the Combo class!

The new Combo is not only the first Opel light commercial vehicle to be equipped with eye-catching adaptive Intelli-Lux LED Matrix Headlights®, but also stands out as the first model in its class to feature this technology. On journeys outside urban areas, the Combo automatically switches its matrix headlights, which have a total of 14 LED cells, to high beam, constantly adjusting the length and distribution of the light beam. When the system detects the headlights of a car in front, the LEDs turn off one by one to cut the car off from the high beam and prevent dazzling other drivers. The LEDs automatically turn back on when the system does not detect any light sources from other vehicles.

New Opel Combo Electric: Longer driving range!

The new Opel Combo Electric also offers a longer driving range. It has “Eco”, “Normal” and “Power” driving modes options and can travel up to 50 kilometers (WLTP) on a single charge with its new 330 kWh battery. This means it has a range of 50 km more than its previous model. In addition to further development of the all-electric powertrain, the new Combo also features for the first time a high-efficiency heat pump that helps maintain battery range at low temperatures. While the new generation electric motor provides 100 kW/136 HP power and 270 Nm torque, it can accelerate the new Combo Electric to a maximum speed of 130 km/h. With the standard 7,4 kW integrated charger, the battery can be charged to 100 percent of its capacity in less than 30 minutes at 80 kW public charging stations.

It offers the best carrying and towing capacity in its class!

The new Opel Combo Electric continues its ability to carry and tow heavy loads with its strong structure. While the new Combo Cargo continues to offer the best storage space in its class, up to 4.4 cubic metres, similar to the previous model, the same as its internal combustion engine siblings, its 780 kg carrying capacity and 750 kg towing capacity continue to be the best in its class.

To further enhance the driving experience, the Combo's cockpit and ergonomics have been optimized for user-friendliness. The new infotainment systems with 10-inch color touch screens use Qualcomm Technologies' integrated Snapdragon® Cockpit Platform, which provides advanced graphics, multimedia and computer vision capabilities for the first time in the Opel light commercial vehicle series. This multimedia system also supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The new Combo can also be equipped with an innovative smartphone kit. After connecting to the kit via a special application, the user's smartphone becomes the vehicle's infotainment control panel and the steering wheel controls are also interacted with. In addition, the paddles behind the new steering wheel of the new Combo Electric allow the driver to select three recovery levels for the regenerative braking system.

Safer maneuvering

The new Opel Combo continues to lead its class when it comes to protecting passengers and other road users. The new Opel Combo Life has rear, front and side parking sensors, as well as a blind spot warning system and a high-resolution 180° panoramic rear view camera. Comprehensive product range, including cruise control, active lane keeping system with lane keeping feature, active emergency braking system with pedestrian recognition and driver fatigue detection system, and up to 18 Advanced Driving Assistance Systems (ADAS) for added safety provides.

With its advanced technology, spacious cabin and heavy load carrying capacity, the new Opel Combo is an extremely attractive choice for professionals in the market as a capable compact van. Without compromising on functionality, the completely new electric version combines the strengths of its internal combustion engine siblings with the ability to operate emission-free in both suburban and urban areas.
