Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, which knows no limits in youth-oriented projects in Bursa, from youth centers to libraries, from cultural and artistic events to sports activities, is building a modern youth center within the Uludağ University Görükle campus. Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş, who examined the ongoing construction works on site, said that Bursa is one of the richest cities in Turkey in terms of youth centers, with the investments they made.
Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, which always prioritizes education and work for young people while implementing projects that will carry Bursa to the future, opened a youth center in Görükle in 2018, so that especially university students can study in a more comfortable and safe environment. The center, which is heavily used by university students with its 24-hour uninterrupted service during exam periods and free internet, tea, coffee and soup offerings, had difficulty meeting the needs, so the button was pressed to bring a second youth center to the region. The Metropolitan Municipality, which offers young people the opportunity to study in comfortable and safe environments with the centers it has opened in different parts of Bursa, is also building a 3-storey youth center with a floor area of approximately 2 thousand square meters on the Görükle Campus. The center, which will include 13 workshops, 2 reading rooms, e-sports center, multi-purpose hall, prayer room, kitchen, cafeteria, lecture hall and open event area, will add value to the campus with its modern architecture.
There is a lot of demand
Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş accompanied by Uludağ University Rector Prof. Dr. He inspected the construction of Görükle Youth Center together with Ferudun Yılmaz. Noting that they are making intense efforts to bring new youth centers and libraries to Bursa, Mayor Aktaş stated that the number of youth centers will reach 20 by the end of the term. Stating that they added the Görükle Youth Center on campus to the list of youth centers, Mayor Aktaş said, “We had previously opened a youth center in our Görükle neighborhood. But it wasn't enough, it's overflowing. As it became very popular with its 7/24 service, free refreshments and internet service, especially during exam times, there was a demand to build a youth center on campus. We started working. We are building a youth center that is distinguished by both its equipment and architecture. We plan to finish it in June next year. The number of our youth centers will reach 20 by the end of the year. We are one of the richest provinces in Turkey in this regard. Next year, this will be a privileged place for young people to benefit from. "I wish you good luck in advance," he said.
