Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, which aims to standardize public transportation in Bursa and maximize quality and comfort, has included 69 Gürsu minibuses in the BURULAŞ system.
The Metropolitan Municipality, which focuses on rail system, new roads, bridge and intersection investments to solve the transportation problem in Bursa, also carries out studies to spread the public transportation culture in the city. In Bursa, where the number of vehicles registered to traffic exceeds 1 million and increases by 30-40 thousand every year, the waiting time at the station was reduced to 2 minutes with signaling optimization and the capacity was increased by 66 percent. While the construction of the Emek - City Hospital rail system line, planned for uninterrupted transportation to the City Hospital, continues, the number of citizens who prefer public transportation is increasing day by day. Burulaş, which carried 146 million people by buses and 98 million people by metro last year, carries an average of 1 million people in public transportation every day. The Metropolitan Municipality, which took the first step to include minibuses in the BURULAŞ network and ensure standardization in service with the minibuses operating on the Kestel and Çirişhane lines in April, has now integrated the Gürsu minibuses into the Buruluş system. Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş, Bursa Deputy Muhammet Müfit Aydın, Gürsu Mayor Mustafa Işık, Gürsu District Governor Naif Yavuz, BESOB Deputy Chairman Bahattin Korkmaz and Gürsu Chamber of Drivers President attended the ceremony held to mark the inclusion of the vehicles that will now serve with the Bursakart Electronic Fare Collection System in the Burulaş fleet. Recep Kaya attended.
Our only aim is; smooth transportation
Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş said that they have implemented important works with the aim of trouble-free transportation in Bursa, where the population increases by 40 thousand-50 thousand every year. Stating that they follow all processes with a solution focus on transportation, Mayor Aktaş said, “Transportation is on everyone's lips in Bursa. In our daily lives, we can put the path we walk, the public transportation we use, bus stops, metro stations, private vehicles, intersections, roads, parking lots and many other things under the heading of transportation. Based on this, we really work day and night. We also follow the processes in a solution-oriented manner. Radical steps are needed to remove the transportation issue from the agenda in this city. We also focus on physical investments such as smart intersections, rail system investments, new roads, bridges and intersections to prevent transportation in the city from being a problem. When I took office, the number of BURULAŞ vehicles was 1087. Until now, we were providing service with 2489 vehicles under BURULAŞ, with Gürsu this number increased to 2558. Our only goal is to ensure the peace of the citizens; To get our citizens to work smoothly in the morning and home safely in the evening. I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the realization of this project. "I wish you safe and trouble-free travels, good luck to the people of Gürsu," he said.
Quality service
Gürsu Mayor Mustafa Işık thanked everyone who contributed to the project and said, “A metropolitan quality service has now begun to be provided. This service was realized with the instructions and support of our Metropolitan Mayor. We have been included in a system that will provide more comfortable and convenient transportation and a more peaceful working environment for our driver friends. I would like to thank everyone who contributed. "I wish good luck to our Bursa and Gürsu," he said.
The system has changed
Bursa Deputy Muhammet Müfit Aydın also reminded that with this application, a significant system change was made in Gürsu minibuses. Aydın said, “It's like an era has passed. We gave up the system that competed with each other and caused traffic problems in order to accommodate more passengers. We are moving to a system with rules and regulations. May God bless you. "I congratulate all our brothers who took responsibility," he said.
BESOB Deputy Chairman Bahattin Korkmaz stated that the Metropolitan Municipality made great contributions to the tradesmen and the public and wished that this contribution would continue to increase.
Gürsu Chamber of Drivers President Recep Kaya also underlined that the transition to the card system will be to the advantage of the people of Gürsu. Kaya said, “I hope the integrated ticket system will be beneficial to all Gürsu people and minibus drivers within the framework of the agreement made by Gürsu Chamber of Drivers with BURULAŞ. Entering the card system with the metropolitan city means bringing the people together with the technology required by the age. It means free transportation for those aged 65 and over, student discounts and a system that benefits citizens. "I would like to thank everyone who contributed, especially our Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş, for presenting a management style that does not victimize both citizens and tradesmen," he said.
Gürsu Chamber of Drivers President Recep Kaya presented a gift to the Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş and Gürsu Mayor Mustafa Işık in memory of the day. The ceremony was completed with the distribution of lokma after the ribbon cutting in front of the vehicle fleet.
