Dr. from Üsküdar University Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences Software Engineering Department. Lecturer Member Murat Oğuz explained the effects of artificial intelligence robots on people's concerns and concerns about the future.
Addressing the main reasons for these concerns in the context of job loss, skill change, and data privacy and security, Dr. Oğuz stated the following:
“With the advancement of artificial intelligence and automation, automating routine and low-skilled jobs may lead to concerns of job loss. For example, robots on the production line could replace factory workers, causing unemployment rates to increase. In the age of artificial intelligence, uncertainties may arise about what skills individuals should have. Traditional skills may need to be replaced by digital capabilities. This may cause people to make extra efforts to update their education. As AI systems and robots process large amounts of data, the privacy and security of that data can be a concern. "Data security is important, especially in the healthcare industry, considering the situations that require the protection of personal health information."
It also allows the creation of new employment areas
Stating that the advancement of artificial intelligence and robots taking on more complex tasks may lead to changes such as industrial transformation, improvement of business processes, and new employment areas, Dr. Oğuz said, “Artificial intelligence and robots taking on more complex tasks can lead to industrial transformation in the production and service sectors. Automation can improve product and service quality by increasing efficiency. Artificial intelligence can make business processes more efficient thanks to its data analysis and prediction capabilities. For example, in the logistics industry, it can reduce transportation costs by optimizing routes. The development of artificial intelligence and robotic technologies also allows the creation of new employment areas. “Positions such as artificial intelligence experts, robotics engineers and data analysts can shape the employment opportunities of the future.” said.
Surgical robots in healthcare
Referring to the positive aspects of artificial intelligence and robots, Dr. Oğuz said, “Artificial intelligence robots can make human life easier in many areas, from the health sector to education, from agriculture and production to the service sector. “For example, in the healthcare sector, surgical robots can accelerate patient recovery processes by performing delicate and challenging surgeries in a less invasive way.” said.
However, Dr. also stated that the uncontrolled development of artificial intelligence and robots may lead to moral and security problems. Oğuz said, “For example, in a world where automation is rapidly becoming widespread, cyber attacks or system errors can lead to serious consequences if adequate precautions are not taken to ensure the security of automation systems.” he said.

Dr. also noted that artificial intelligence robots can help people focus on more strategic tasks by automating repetitive and time-consuming tasks. Oğuz explained that the development of artificial intelligence and automation will bring about the need for people to constantly learn new skills.
Threat of technological unemployment
Dr. Murat Oğuz pointed out that the concern about job loss has increased with the spread of these technologies and said, “Replacing low-skilled and repetitive jobs with automation may increase the risk of unemployment. “The threat of technological unemployment may raise questions about long-term employment prospects.” he stated.
Noting that the advancement of artificial intelligence and robotics technology brings with it positive effects, Dr. Oğuz said:
“Thanks to developments in the healthcare sector, it is possible to diagnose and treat patients faster and more accurately. Artificial intelligence-supported robots can enable surgical interventions to be performed more precisely and effectively. However, robots used in the agricultural sector can support food production by increasing efficiency, while also helping to popularize sustainable agricultural practices. “Agricultural automation can be an important step in providing healthy food to more people by increasing efficiency.”
