In the operation carried out at Sabiha Gökçen Airport by the Customs Enforcement teams of the Ministry of Commerce, 7 wristwatches worth 552 million 15 thousand Turkish Liras, which were determined to be original belonging to a luxury brand, were seized.
According to the statement made by the Ministry, a foreign national coming from Dubai Airport was closely monitored during the operation carried out by Sabiha Gökçen Airport Customs Enforcement teams affiliated with the Ministry of Commerce. As a result of the passport checks, the teams determined that the suspicious person entered and exited Turkey very frequently and x-ray scanned the person's luggage for control purposes.
During the searches, no criminal elements were detected in the suspect's luggage. However, during the body search carried out by the teams, 15 wristwatches belonging to a luxury brand, which were found to be original, were found hidden in the compression socks worn by the person. Thanks to the successful detection of the teams, luxury watches with a market value of 7 million 552 thousand Turkish Liras were seized.
The investigation into the incident continues before the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
