Hz. On the 750th anniversary of Mevlana's death, a whirling dervish show was held in Sultanahmet Square with the participation of approximately 750 whirling dervishes.

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism is organizing events with the General Directorate of Fine Arts within the scope of the calendar of 2023 as the "Year of Mevlana" by UNESCO.

In this context, in Sultanahmet Square in front of the Hagia Sophia Mosque, Hz. Mevlana Gülşeni program was organized on the 750th anniversary of Mevlana's death.

Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, in his statement to the press before the program, said that whirling dervishes will perform in front of Hagia Sophia, one of the most important squares in world history.

Ersoy said, “With this event, we want to spread Mevlana's 'come' philosophy to the whole world. In this environment of chaos and war that the world is currently in, we are giving the messages of peace, brotherhood and serenity that were fermented in Anatolia. “I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the event.” he said.

In the show, where high technology and artistic expression opportunities were used in terms of staging techniques and musical infrastructure, nearly 750 whirling dervishes from home and abroad performed "Sema Mukabelesi".

In the show titled "Invitation to Mevlana Gülşen - COME", Sufi music and Turkish music artist Ahmet Özhan, the last postmaster of Pir Nurettin Surgery Lodge, and Ömer Faruk Belviranlı, General Director of Fine Arts of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, took part as soloists.

Özhan and Belviranlı were accompanied by the orchestra containing classical Turkish and Western music instruments conducted by Hasan Niyazi Tura.
