Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that Pendik (Tavşantepe) - Sabiha Gökçen Airport Metro Line serves approximately 9 million passengers a year. Minister Uraloğlu stated that this line has made significant contributions to the transportation infrastructure of not only Istanbul but also Turkey since the day it was put into service, and said, "Approximately 9 million citizens had the opportunity to travel quickly, safely and economically in the year the line was put into service."
Stating that there has been a significant decrease in travel times with this project, Minister Uraloğlu said, “The 10-minute travel time between Tavşantepe and Sabiha Gökçen Airport is an indicator of how fast and effective transportation can be.
