Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya announced that 2 terrorists who came with a light commercial vehicle in front of the entrance gate of the General Directorate of Security in Ankara carried out a bomb attack. Yerlikaya announced that one of the terrorists blew himself up and the other was neutralized.

Yerlikaya, in his statement, said, “Around 09.30, two terrorists who arrived in front of the entrance gate of the General Directorate of Security with a light commercial vehicle committed a bomb attack. One terrorist was neutralized at the scene after one of the terrorists blew himself up. The other terrorist was neutralized by our security forces. 2 police officers were injured in the incident. "Our injured police officer has been treated," he said.

Yerlikaya stated that it was assessed that the attack was carried out by the terrorist organization PKK and said, “This attack of the terrorist organization will never achieve its purpose. "These attacks of the terrorist organization and its supporters will never intimidate us," he said.

The attack took place in front of the entrance gate of the General Directorate of Security in Ankara's Kızılay district. Terrorists arriving in a light commercial vehicle tried to detonate the bombs in the vehicle. However, before the bombs could fully explode, one of the terrorists blew himself up. The other terrorist was neutralized by security forces.

The attack was the latest terrorist attack in Turkey's capital.
