Within the scope of the "Zero Waste in the Field" project carried out in cooperation with Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality and SS Gönen Merkez Tuzakçı Hasanbey Agricultural Development Cooperative; For every female entrepreneur who collects 500 kilograms of agricultural waste; 1 Balıkesir Lamb and 50 grass bales per lamb were distributed.
TBB and Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Yücel Yılmaz, who were among the first to sign the 'Zero Waste Goodwill Declaration' after President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the Türkevi in New York last week, continue their "Zero Waste" projects uninterruptedly. Mayor Yücel Yılmaz, who has implemented works that set an example for Turkey and the world with the environmentally friendly projects he has implemented throughout the province since the day he took office as the Metropolitan Municipality Mayor, with the "Zero Waste in the Field" project he started last year; On the one hand, it recycles agricultural waste, and on the other hand, it supports women producers living in rural neighborhoods.
AGRICULTURAL WASTES ARE RECYCLED
Thanks to the project carried out in cooperation with the Metropolitan Municipality and SS Gönen Merkez Tuzakçı Hasanbey Agricultural Development Cooperative; Agricultural and agricultural wastes and waste plastics generated during the period from seed to harvest are recycled. Within the scope of the "Zero Waste in the Field" project implemented in 13 villages within the cooperative; Members of the cooperative who collect agricultural and agricultural waste are given a Balıkesir Lamb as a gift for every 500 kilograms by the Metropolitan Municipality. With the ceremony held in Gönen's Tuzakçı Rural District; 10 thousand 730 kilograms of recyclable waste generated in rural and agricultural areas were collected. In the program where a total of 20 Balıkesir Lambs were distributed, Mayor Yücel Yılmaz presented 50 grass bales to the female producers for each lamb.

Speaking at the ceremony, SS Gönen Merkez Trapper Hasanbey Agricultural Development Cooperative President Berrin Yetkin Var said, “We thought about how we, as rural people, would respond to the 'Zero Waste' projects that Mrs. Emine Erdoğan popularized in our country. We decided that our responsible leading female farmers should buy it, weigh it, and when it reaches 500 kilograms, we will give 1 Balıkesir Lamb as a gift. We knock on the mayor's door in all the projects we carry out. "Whenever we say we are undertaking this project with women, our president says 'Okay, you can do it.'" she said.

Expressing that they attach great importance to the "Zero Waste in the Field" project, Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Yücel Yılmaz said, "Turkey has launched a zero waste campaign. We gave a lamb as a gift to each woman who collected 500 kilograms. This time we are giving twice as much as we gave last year. We congratulate all our women who contributed.” he said.
