Emirates Announces to Operate Sydney Flights with A

Emirates, which continues to work determinedly to increase access opportunities for its passengers within its flight network, announced that it will operate its Sydney flights entirely with A380. The airline, which currently has three slots in use at Sydney airport, will start using its double-decker aircraft on its third daily flight as of November 4, 2023, offering approximately 2 thousand additional seat capacity per week.

The three-class Emirates A489, with a capacity of 380 seats, will replace the Boeing 416-417ER, which currently operates flights EK 777 and 300. Each round-trip flight provides more than 260 additional seats per day, offering more connection options to and from Dubai, as well as worldwide access to destinations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The third A380 service will complement the A380's two other four-class services to Sydney, which feature Emirates' newest Premium Economy cabin.

Emirates currently operates 63 weekly flights to Australia, offering approximately 56 round-trip seats from four main hubs. While there are three flights a day to Melbourne and Sydney, there are two flights a day to Brisbane. The airline also operates flights to Perth with its flagship A380. Emirates is relaunching its Melbourne-Singapore service and connecting between Sydney and Christchurch, offering passengers the only A380 experience on the trans-Tasman route.

Adelaide flights restart

With the introduction of the Emirates Airbus A350 in the summer season of 2024, the airline will seize the opportunity to further expand its global network, increasing its fleet and increasing the number of long-range Emirates aircraft flying to destinations such as Adelaide. The airline is in talks with Adelaide Airport to restart direct flights as part of its commitment to reconnecting travelers from across Australia with Emirates' network.

The third A380 service to Sydney will depart from Dubai at 21:30 and land in Sydney at 18.20 local time. The return flight will depart from Sydney at 21.10 and arrive in Dubai at 04.30 local time.

Emirates continues to increase services on its flagship A380 to meet ever-increasing demand for travel around the world. The airline currently operates A50 services to more than 380 destinations and the aircraft is planned to fly to more cities in the coming months.
