Üsküdar Dental Hospital Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Specialist Dr. Lecturer Member Musa Erdem gave information about the sinus lift operation. Erdem explained that after implants entered the world of dentistry, there were developments in various surgical techniques, and one of them was the sinus lift operation.

Dr. states that sinuses are anatomical cavities in the skull, lined with biological membranes. Lecturer Member Musa Erdem explained:
“Especially in cases of missing teeth and if the sinuses sag downward with advancing age, implant placement in the upper jaw may become impossible. In such cases, sinus lift operation is performed. To define it simply; It is the name given to the process of delicately removing the biological membrane inside the sinus and placing a bone graft. “There are different procedures and techniques, but this is mostly determined by the quality and volume of bone in the patient's upper jaw.”
"Implants can also be applied at the same time"
Dr. noted that in some cases, implants can be applied in the same session with the sinus lift procedure. Lecturer Member Musa Erdem stated that in some cases it should be waited.
Dr. also explained that the operation was performed under local anesthesia.
