The repair work initiated by Antalya Metropolitan Municipality due to collapses in the infrastructure of the tram line between East Garage and Square has come to an end. The teams strengthened the ground and laid new rails. Once the work is completed in a short time, the line will be put into use in a healthy and safe manner.
Antalya Metropolitan Municipality has initiated an important repair work on the tram line in the Seven Ariklar region between the Doğu Garajı and Meydan stops, which is one of the important transportation lines of Antalya. During the construction of the tram line, the area where the line will pass was not fully filled and compaction was not carried out, causing a collapse due to groundwater and time. Antalya Metropolitan Municipality has initiated an essential repair work to ensure full operational safety. Teams found house ruins in the area where the tram line passes.
THE GROUND HAS BEEN STRENGTHENED
In order to eliminate underground collapses, the teams excavated until they reached the hard ground underground in the line area between Meydan and Doğu Garage. The ground was refilled and its infrastructure was strengthened. In the area where the repair work was carried out, rails were laid again and the electrical infrastructure was renewed. Traffic is provided in a controlled manner in the area where hot asphalt is poured. Metropolitan teams will complete the work between Square and East Garage in a short time and open it to public use. The tram line between Doğu Garajı and Meydan will be put into use in a healthy and safe manner in its renewed form.
