"Parent Psychoeducation Program After Challenging Life Events" was prepared by the Ministry of National Education in order to support the psychological well-being of parents after the earthquake.
A psychoeducation program was prepared by the General Directorate of Special Education and Guidance Services of the Ministry of National Education in order to strengthen parents' coping skills against the effects of challenging experiences after traumatic events.
The program, prepared in three sessions, consists of the themes of "Awareness of Stress Reactions, Positive Coping and Optimism for the Future".
With the psychosocial support program offered to parents after trauma, it is aimed to evaluate the psychological and social impact of the trauma, reduce the parents' stress symptoms and increase their psychological resilience, and prevent long-term mental health problems by ensuring the continuity of support.
With the start of the 2023-2024 academic year, the program in question was first made available to guidance counselors/psychological counselors to be used in studies to be carried out with parents in the earthquake zone.
