AYGM General Director Dr. Yalçın Eyigün stated in his statement that the metro was produced XNUMX percent nationally and locally and that this was a first for Turkey. He said that everything from the lighting of the subway to the announcement system and signaling system was produced with local and national resources.
Eyigün also gave the following information about the features of the metro:
“We received the first set with our Minister on September 1 at Sincan Organized Industrial Zone in Ankara. We shared it with the public. We put those vehicles on the track. There will be feverish activity from now on. We make a set by combining 4 vehicles. There will be 7 sets in total here. Our vehicle has some unique features. The first local and national driverless metro vehicle. This is the metro vehicle with the largest interior volume. It can accommodate 1150 passengers at a time with normal occupancy, and can reach 1500 with denser settlement. We have a 15,4 kilometer metro line. We are currently in the warehouse area. All vehicles are repaired and maintained here.” said.
The metro's warehouse area was also built with local and national resources. Daily routine maintenance of metro vehicles is carried out in the warehouse area.
Eyigün also gave information about the localization rate of the metro. He said that 20 years ago, the localization rate in metro vehicles was between 8 and 10 percent, but with the will and practices in 20 years, this rate reached 63 percent. He stated that many parts of the metro, from air conditioning to lighting, from the announcement system to the signaling system, were produced from domestic equipment.
Eyigün also talked about the tunnels, stations of the metro and the design of the project from a to z. He said that the metro is a hundred percent domestic engineering product and will be available to the public soon.
