Izmir Metropolitan Municipality is organizing the Balkans Folk Dances and Culture Festival for the seventeenth time this year. The four-day festival, in which 10 countries will participate, will witness colorful scenes this year as well.
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, which revived the "Balkans Folk Dances Festival", which was first held in 1935 and 1936 under the leadership of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, will host a magnificent feast for the 17th time this year. During the four-day festival, in which 10 countries will participate, messages of peace will be given to the whole world from Izmir. The festival, which aims to reinforce Balkan brotherhood, will be held between 22 and 25 September. The festival hosted by Turkey; Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Hungary, Romania and Serbia will be the guests. In addition to folk dance shows, there will also be concerts and exhibitions at the festival.
Opening concert with Suzan Kardeş
The festival will start with a ceremony in Cumhuriyet Square on Friday, September 22 at 18.30. After the opening, the participants will walk with a cortege to Kültürpark. After the folk dance performances, Suzan Kardeş will give a concert at 21.30 at Kültürpark Çim Alan.
