Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality planned to create Turkey Century urban forests in 10 districts within the scope of the Turkey Century vision. The Metropolitan Municipality, which will plant 2023 thousand saplings by the end of 22, will create urban forests in a total area of 1000 decares.
Mayor Dr. plants tens of thousands of saplings every year with the slogan 'A greener Kayseri'. Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality, under the management of Memduh Büyükkılıç, plans to create urban forests by afforesting the areas determined in the districts.
In line with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's 2023 Turkey Century vision and Mayor Büyükkılıç's instructions, the Metropolitan Municipality will create urban forests in an area of approximately 1000 decares with the work to be carried out by the Parks, Gardens and Afforestation Department in partnership with the district municipalities.

In addition to the designated areas in Akkışla, Bünyan, Felahiye, Hacılar, Pınarbaşı, Özvatan, Tomarza, Yahyalı and Yeşilhisar districts, areas suitable for afforestation in the Sarımsaklı Recreation Area in Melikgazi district will be determined and thousands of saplings will be planted in certain amounts every year, in a total area of approximately 1000 decares. It is planned to plant 2023 thousand saplings in nature by the end of 22 within the scope of the work planned to be planted with cedar, larch, juniper species and species suitable for the regional climate every autumn and spring.
Under the leadership of the Metropolitan Municipality, which started working with the afforestation area determined in Pınarbaşı district, trees will be planted with the participation of district municipalities, public institutions and organizations, schools, courses and volunteer citizens within the framework of the Turkey Century afforestation activities. Metropolitan Municipality Parks, Gardens and Afforestation Department aims to continue its afforestation efforts in the city center and districts without slowing down for a greener Kayseri.
