Collective Bargaining Agreement (TİS) negotiations with İzmir Metro were blocked. As the negotiations failed, the union announced that it had decided to strike. The last meeting of the TİS, which started on February 27, between İzmir Metro AŞ, affiliated to the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, the employer union Social Democrat Public Employers' Union (SODEM-SEN) and the Railway-İş Union, where the workers working in the metro and trams are organized, did not yield any results. Thereupon, the workers hanged the strike decision on 16 June. With the call of SODEMSEN, another meeting was held yesterday between İzmir Metro AŞ, Demiryol-İŞ Union and SODEMSEN. After this meeting did not yield any results, the workers announced that they would go on strike at 31:05.00 on XNUMX July.

Since an agreement could not be reached in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (TİS) negotiations with İzmir Metro, the union decided to strike. Demiryol-İş Union İzmir Branch President Hamdullah Giral stated that they did not accept the employer's offer on the grounds that the unions did not meet their demands. After an agreement was not reached as a result of the last meeting, the workers decided to strike. The workers announced that they would go on strike as of 31:05.00 on XNUMX July. Demiryol-İş Union İzmir Branch President Hamdullah Giral stated that if resistance is shown in granting their rights, they will implement the strike decision and continue their struggle.

Along with these developments, it is stated that the metro and tram services in İzmir will stop on July 31 due to the strike. The demands of the workers and the results of the negotiations between the union and the employer are followed with interest.
