Megisti Kaş Swim Race, an international open water swimming race with a length of 7 kilometers, will be held for the 25th time on Sunday, June 17, between the Greek Megisti/Meis Island and Antalya's Kaş district. With the slogan of “Peace and Friendship”, the open sea swimming race Megisti Kaş Swim Race, which is the closing event of the International Lycian Kaş Culture and Art Festival every year, will be held for the 17th time this year.

The Lycian Kaş Culture and Art Festival has been organized since 1999 to promote the beauties of the Kaş region. Megisti Kaş Swim Race was organized for the first time on July 2005, which coincides with the Maritime and Cabotage Festival in 1, as the closing event of the Lycian Kaş Culture and Art Festival.

The race organized by Rossist Event, which organizes international sports events within the scope of sports tourism in our country; Under the main sponsorship of Kaş Municipality and Radisson Blue Kaş, with the support of TR Ministry of Youth and Sports, Kaş District Governorship and Turkish Swimming Federation, under the co-sponsorship of MK Group and sponsored by MEKVIN Hotels, it will be held in Kaş, the calm beauty of the Mediterranean, on Sunday, 25 June.

2 Countries, 1 Race, 16 Swimmers from 193 Countries…The strokes will be thrown for peace and friendship

The records of the race, which attracts great attention and is eagerly awaited every year, were filled in a week, with high demand this year as well. A total of 1 swimmers from 16 countries, including Turkey, Greece, USA, England and Australia, Afghanistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, France, Georgia, Netherlands, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Japan, Macedonia and Russia will participate in the race. The strokes will be thrown for peace and friendship.

In Megisti Kaş Swim Race, along with 193 racers, special names such as Iron Man Champion Sera Sayar, the youngest Turkish Swimmer to swim in the English Channel, Aysu Türkoğlu, World Swimming Record Holder Ahmet Nakkaş and Ultra Marathon Swimmer Bengisu Avcı will take place.

The swimmers participating in the competition will take a ferry from Kaş early in the morning to Megisti/Meis Island, which is the closest land part of Greece to Turkey. Swimmers who will swim from Megisti/Meis Island towards Kaş will start at 09.00:7. Athletes jumping into the sea with the start will complete the race on the 14.00-kilometer track from Megisti/Meis Island to Kaş. Athletes who complete the course will crown their achievements with the award ceremony that will take place on the same day at XNUMX at Kaş Cumhuriyet Square.
