Beşiktaş Municipality Kethüda Hüsrev Hamam is preparing to host the Sema Boyancı Solo Exhibition between 20 – 25 June 2023. The opening of the exhibition will take place on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, between 17:00 and 19:00.
In the exhibition curated by Corvo Art Gallery founder Nilüfer Eriş, 65 works of the artist from various periods, made with different techniques, will meet with the art audience.
Opened in Kuzguncuk-IMOGA ART SPACE in 2019, with the theme of “Aesthetics & Instinct”; Oil paintings on canvas & glass will form the bulk of the exhibition. In addition, engravings from various periods and mixed media works with the theme of "MIGRATION" of the latest period will be presented to the audience.
Artist Boyancı's thoughts on his solo exhibition:
“Aesthetics & Instinct” paintings emerged with the motto “Beauty will save the world”. I think that every human being comes into the world with the nature of being human - the perception and quest of beauty. In the course of time, the environment in which he lives, the education he receives and the spiritual-visual accumulation either destroys or improves the level of aesthetic perception. By integrating this beauty with her identity, she reveals her behavior in life.
Few years ago; By escaping the bombs dropped on the Middle East countries, thousands of innocent people migrated to European countries over our country to their deaths with the instinct of survival. This is the tragedy of the century. From our safe rooms in our homes, we watched this great tragedy for months, bleeding inside. The corpses, booties, pacifiers and clothes of babies, women, fathers and children who lost their lives in the deep seas of the Aegean, washed up on our beaches. A part of my exhibition consists of these tragic “MIGRATION” themed paintings.” expresses in words.
