Atatürk Cultural Center (AKM) organizes piano workshops for children to discover their musical talents at the AKM Children's Art Center, where children meet with social and artistic activities.

The workshop "Meet the Piano" for children aged 4-11, to be held at the AKM Children's Art Center throughout June, helps children get to know their bodies and develop their sense of rhythm.

The piano workshops, which are organized in order to create a foundation for children who want to continue their piano education and become pianists in the future, aim for children to express themselves beautifully through music and acquire musical behaviors.

In the workshop, children first get detailed information about the piano, then listen to a short recital and take the piano. The focus and concentration skills of the little ones who try to continue the work with the same tempo by following the notes at the beginning of the piano develop. Children, who experience the piano with their eyes, follow the keys with their hands, and coordinate their whole body by pressing the pedal with their feet, experience a beneficial experience that activates both their brain and body. Contributing to the development of speed reading skills with note and key tracking, the little ones discover the importance of focus and coordination in discipline. Focusing on all the sounds produced while playing the piano, the voice discrimination skills of the participants also improve.

The workshop is held by Ceren Yılmazoğlu, who volunteered as a teacher within the scope of the #hermamabirnota project developed for stray animals.
