Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO) Celebrates Its 134th Anniversary

Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO), which was established on 6 June 1889 in order to structure the commercial life in Bursa and to support development goals, celebrates its 134th anniversary.

BTSO, which started its activities on June 6, 1889 under the leadership of Osman Fevzi Efendi and his friends, is today one of the largest chambers of commerce and industry in the country with more than 53 thousand members. A ceremony was held in Bursa, one of the cities that shape the Turkish economy, on the occasion of the 134th anniversary of BTSO, the umbrella organization of the business world. BTSO Assembly President Ali Uğur, BTSO Deputy Chairman of the Board İsmail Kuş, BTSO Board of Directors, Assembly Council, Assembly and Committee Members attended the program, where a wreath was first presented to the Atatürk Monument. Then, a prayer was read at the grave of Osman Fevzi Efendi, the founder of the Chamber, in the Emir Sultan Cemetery.

“BTSO Adds Strength to Bursa's Economic Life”

In his speech, BTSO Assembly President Ali Uğur said that Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry has been working for its members, city and country since its establishment. Stating that BTSO continues to make important contributions to the development of the city's economy and social life despite all the difficult times, Ali Uğur said, "Our chamber has witnessed many historical events from wars to global economic crises, from disasters to epidemics since the day it was founded. In this period when Turkey is marching towards a much stronger future, we will continue to work with the common mind of the city in order to increase our contribution to this march. I would like to thank our Chairman of the Board İbrahim Burkay, our board of directors, members of the assembly and committee once again, who has been carrying out an intense work traffic during the period we live in. With respect, mercy and gratitude, I commemorate all of our elders, who took determined steps on this path paved by our founder Osman Fevzi Efendi and his friends, and contributed to the success of our chamber.” he said.
