Wheat and barley purchase prices for 2023 have been determined. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan shared the details of wheat and barley purchase prices in his speech after the cabinet meeting.
Stating that the new harvest period has started in many provinces, President Erdoğan continued his words as follows:
“The first data indicate that 2023 will be a fruitful year. We have given and are giving the necessary support to our farmers in every field. We made our producers happy by announcing our fresh tea purchase prices at the beginning of last month. Today, we have determined the wheat and barley purchase prices of the Turkish Grain Board for 2023.
While determining the prices, we have taken into account the creation of stocks needed for food safety related to costs, domestic and foreign market developments, as well as the continuation of production by our farmers. We have determined the purchase prices of our Turkish Grain Board as 8 thousand 250 liras per ton for bread wheat and 7 thousand liras for barley.
In addition to these prices, a grain production premium of 1000 lira per ton for wheat and 500 lira per ton for barley will be given as support to all our producers registered in the farmer registration system by our ministry. With these figures, our producers will receive 9 thousand 250 liras for bread wheat and 7 thousand 500 liras for barley per ton.”
