2005 – Orhan Boran's 60th year of art and the jubilee night, which ended his professional life, was held at the Harbiye Open Air Theatre.
2006 – Sale of real estate to foreigners in Hatay was stopped. The General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre has banned sales until the second order, since more than 5 per thousand of the surface area of the province has been sold to foreigners.
