CRRC Tangshan Limited Company, one of the leading manufacturers of high speed trains in China, produced the first new energy light rail train for Argentina. Thus, the first project for the export of this type of train from China was realized.

A ceremony was held in Tangshan, located in northern China's Hebei province, on Tuesday to mark the completion of the train's production work.

Luo Chao, technical manager of the project belonging to CRRC Tangshan Limited Company, said that the six-axle add-on train has a maximum speed of 72 kilometers per hour with a passenger capacity ranging from 388 to 60. The train offers two-way driving thanks to the driver's cabins at both ends.

While the exterior lines and color design of the train are inspired by the Quebrada de Humahuaca valley, a World Heritage site in Argentina, the design of the observation windows on the train provides great convenience for tourists.

The train, powered by lithium iron phosphate batteries, will be used in the transportation system of Argentina's Jujuy province.

Zhou Junnian, President of CRRC Tangshan, said he hopes China's new-energy light rail trains will support the development of tourism in Argentina's Jujuy province and create a new model for win-win cooperation between China and Latin American countries.
