Afyonkarahisar Municipality will bring together the Historical İzmir Station with young people. The historical 'İzmir Station' building, which was built in 1890 as Afyonkarahisar's first train station, will serve as the 'E-Sports Youth Center'.
Izmir Station, which was allocated to Afyonkarahisar Municipality as a result of negotiations with the General Directorate of State Railways, will become an E-Sports Youth Center with the initiatives of Mayor Mehmet Zeybek.
President Mehmet Zeybek, who examined the ongoing restoration works in the historical Izmir Station on site, said that they were happy to not leave the building to its fate and to offer it to the service of the youth with the renovation works. Our Vice Presidents Süleyman Karakuş, Murat Öner, Benol Kaplan and Barış Dal accompanied the inspection visit. Zeybek President was briefed on the ongoing work with his team.
130-Year-Old Historic Building Will Become Youth
Zeybek President said that they are happy to bring together the 130-year-old historical building built by the British during the reign of Abdülhamit Han, with young people; “We have designed our e-sports Center as an area where young people can demonstrate their talents and spend safe and conscious time with their friends in order to spread electronic sports, which are rapidly developing and continue to grow day by day, in our city.”
“10 THOUSAND YOUTH WILL BE WELCOME A YEAR”
President Zeybek pointed out that they restored the abandoned works in Afyonkarahisar and presented them to the use of our people: “This building was left to rot. We received the allocation from the State Railways. We strengthen this place statically by reinforcement and injection. Our center, which we designed with high-equipped gaming computers and equipment, and high player comfort in mind, will host 10 thousand young people per year. By ensuring that our young e-sports enthusiasts receive various trainings for the branch, conscious players will be trained, and we will mobilize all the opportunities in our center to bring e-sports players from all over Turkey together in Afyonkarahisar, so that they can achieve success both in the national and international arena.”
