'La Traviata' Wind at the 14th International Istanbul Opera Festival

La Traviata Opera was staged as part of the 14th International Istanbul Opera Festival, organized by the General Directorate of State Opera and Ballet. “La Traviata”, composed by Giuseppe Verdi and libretto by Francesco Maria Piave, inspired by the famous novel of French writer Alexandre Dumas's novel The Woman with the Camellia, presented a unique opera feast to the audience. The work carried the dramatic and interesting life of the protagonist Violetta Valery, who suffered and sacrificed for her love, to the AKM Türk Telekom Opera Hall.

The performance, which was applauded for a long time by the art lovers, was staged by the Izmir State Opera and Ballet, which participated in the festival for the first time, accompanied by the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet Orchestra under the direction of Orchestra Conductor Tulio Gagliardo.

In the work, “Violetta” Eylem Demirhan Duru, “Alfredo Germont” Levent Gündüz, “Giorgio Germont” Cengiz Sayın, “Flora” Melisa Özdemir, “Annina” Eda Çapanoğlu, “Gastone” Burak Dabakoğlu, “Marquis” Cihan Özmen, “Baron” Nejad Beğde was played by “Doctor” Christopher Gagliardo, “Commissioner” Başak Ünal and “Giuseppe” Muzaffer Soydan.

The Izmir State Opera and Ballet Choir under the direction of choir conductor Orhan Öner Özcan was also on the stage in the piece staged by the famous director Carlos Vilán.

ANDREA CHENIER opera, one of the important works of Italian composer Umberto Giordano and staged by Ankara State Opera and Ballet, will meet with art lovers at AKM Türk Telekom Opera Hall on Sunday evening, June 18. The short life story of poet Andrea Chenier, who was sentenced to death at a young age for his ideals during the French Revolution, is told with decor and costumes suitable for the period.

The famous Italian tenor Ivan Defabiani, who has performed in many opera houses on the world stage, will play the poet Andrea Chenier in the lead role.
