Experimental Technology Workshops are Established in Niger

Experimental Technology Workshops, which were implemented under the leadership of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, go beyond the borders. Experimental Technology Workshops, which are applied to approximately 81 thousand instructors and 100 thousand 3 students in 15 workshops in 383 provinces, are being established in the African country of Niger. According to the statement made by the Ministry, the UN Technology Bank, a subsidiary of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly, has the status of being the only UN institution hosted by the Republic of Turkey. BM Technology Bank accepted the Testap Technology Workshops as the best example and started the Technology Makers Lab project.

First application in Niger

Niger was chosen as the first implementation country of the Technology Makers Lab project. The main stakeholder of the project was the Presidency of Niger. With the cooperation of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, TÜBİTAK, TIKA, and the Turkey Technology Team (T3), Experimental Technology Workshops are being established in Niger by the UN Technology Bank.

Inter-institutional cooperation

Workshops were equipped by TIKA, and TÜBİTAK provided the training curricula and equipment to be used in the trainings. The Ministry of Industry and Technology also met the needs of the trainers, who are one of the most important building blocks of the project, such as logistics, accommodation and trainer training.

Training of educators

"Deneyap Technology Workshop Orientation Program" was applied to the trainers selected by the Niger Government. To the trainers; Design and Production, Robotics and Coding, Materials Science and Nanotechnology, Electronic Programming and Internet of Things, Software Technologies, Advanced Robotics, Cyber ​​Security trainings were given.

It will spread to 9 countries

The project will start in Niger after the trainings are completed. The project is planned to be implemented in 9 more developing countries after Niger. With the project, Turkey aims at the human development of the least developed countries and the development of their technology ecosystems.
